Mary Kate’s Take-
This year for Black Friday, my mom, aunt, granny and cousins decided to go hardcore, so we shopped from 8 pm Thanksgiving night through 2:30 this afternoon. On this adventurous day, I witnessed numerous shopping no-no’s, which I feel should be explained.
1.) Dress comfortably!
Shopping on Black Friday is a very serious and tedious task. It isn’t necessary for you to wear the tiniest skirt and tank top and strappiest heels you own. You need to be able to change in and out of your clothes in the dressing room with ease and agility. I recommend a button down shirt. This way you can quickly change, without creating and complete mess of your hair. And those heels you love will be the DEATH of you and your feet by the end of your shopping spree.
2.) Neutral Underclothes
If you have on hot pink bra and panties under the white sheer dress, you can’t truly envision it later. Neutral or nude underclothes help by eliminating the distractions.
3.) Dress Appropriate to Weather
Girls, we are the worst about this. “OMG! I love this tank too and shorts! But it’s cold outside…. I’ll just wear my boots with it and I’ll be fine!” No. Just no. While you’re shivering in line to get into Target in the morning, we will be wondering WHAT went through you’re mind to think that was okay.
4.) Etiquette
This isn’t fashion related, but it matters. Don’t be that person that cuts in line to get into the biggest sale of the season. It’s not crafty, it’s rude and irritating to those who got in line early. Be courteous and respectful.
5.) Wear What Makes You Confident
We all have those days, when breakouts and bad hair days happen, but to help get through those unfortunate days, dress in a way that you feel great. Personally my “feel good” outfit is jeans and a sweater. If those bad days fall on shopping days, dress for success.
