Today I turned 19 which is not exactly an exciting age because I’m already a technically an adult, and I can’t do anything more at 19 then I could do at 18, but what is exciting about birthdays is that you can wear, do, or eat whatever you feel like just because it is your birthday (I even got a free drink at Starbucks!)! Today I finally saw The Great Gatsby which of course required some 1920s inspired jewels. In Tuesday’s blog I talked about how much Gatsby will be affecting fashion in the very near future. What mostly inspired that post was this necklace that my mom got me for my birthday that reminded me of the beautiful Roaring 20s. I kept the glam factor up with a grey button down and pink blazer (and what would a birthday be without hot pink lipstick?). To add some edge to the outfit I wore my new high waisted shorts that I bought as a birthday present to myself! I felt fabulous in this outfit which made my day even better, even when I had to change to teach swim lessons all afternoon which was worth it because of the great people that I work with.
