Little Black Dress (day 82)

My beautiful Aunt knows how to work a little black dress! This outfit is perfect for a “tapas and tini’s ” night out which is perfect because that is exactly where the adults are right now. The dress is sleeveless with a cutout neck line to show a little more skin. I love the shoes because the embellishment on them is a zipper and that has been a great trend recently. Image Insight even gave her a gorgeous silver smokey eye for the night out!

A little history lesson for the night: Coco Chanel was the amazing designer that made the little black dress a staple in every women’s wardrobe.  Around 1917 the beautiful Chanel was getting ready to go to an Opera with friends in a white dress (as every proper woman would wear to an opera) when a pilot-light blew up in her bathroom leaving her covered in soot. She had to cut off  all of her hair off and wear a black dress that she had designed. She liked “the power of wearing black instead of the conventions of white”(Coco Chanel page 87). Not many people seemed to appreciate her black dress as much as she did. Chanel is such an amazing visionary, shaping fashion even way after her time.
