fit and flatter

Let’s have a little talk about “fit and flatter” today.  You may ask, “If it fits, it must flatter, right?” Wrong. Just because your high-waisted, light-washed, tapered jeans fit you, doesn’t mean that they flatter your body at all.  If you ever have them on again (which I beg you not to), look at your butt in the mirror. As Clinton Kelly put so well, your butt looks “as wide and flat as a trash-can lid.” So how about instead of those you go get a pair of dark wash jeans that hang from the widest part of your hip. You will instantly loose ten pounds! The waist band of your pants should fall about an inch below your belly button to keep all of the unwanted rolls put away. Also remember that black is slimming but only when it fits correctly so follow all of the rules above and black will be your best friend. You can’t have style without fit so go through your closet and throw away everything that does not fit. You will automatically have room for new clothes and will be one step closer to your perfect style!

Happy Shopping,

Lauren
