In my public speaking class we were given an assignment to pick something to read and talk about why we chose to read it. I read the history of the Little Black Dress from my book “Coco Chanel: The Legend and the life”. It was very exciting for me to be able to teach everyone in my class a little bit about fashion when they had no choice but to listen! I can’t wait until I get to incorporate my love of fashion into other speeches this semester.
Florida is extra rainy this week thanks to tropical storm Isaac so I had to plan my outfit around the fact that it rained all day and I had a speech to look nice for. It’s always cold in classrooms, especially if you have cold rain on you so I went with a button down shirt and cardigan with rolled sleeves. Since I wore blue jeans yesterday I didn’t want to wear them again today so I opted for the orange version! This colorful necklace pulled the two very distinct pieces together in nice harmony. Something I wish I had done differently was worn a tank under the button down shirt because I was pulling at it all day but besides that I liked this look.
Looks great! It does add a challenge when the weather is bad, I like to have a punch of color when it’s grey outside! Proud to hear you enjoyed your public speaking! I am going to have to borrow that book!
