For today I am taking off the “On a college student budget” part of the motto of this blog, and just talking about the amazing (and not so amazing) high fashion looks from last nights Academy Awards. This was the best red carpet this season, but I narrowed it down to my 3 best and worst of the night before my favorite show Fashion Police puts their opinion out there!
It was hard to narrow down my 3 favorite, but these were the ones that made my jaw drop when I saw them. The first one is Halle Berry in this stunning black long sleeve dress with amazing silver details. The second is Charlize Theron. Her hair is so edgy, and her makeup is very simple and elegant which allowed her stunning white dress to be the statement. The sparkly peplum made it fashion forward, but in general the dress is timeless. Last, but not least, is my favorite color statement of the night worn by Jennifer Garner. The plum was so gorgeous on her, and I absolutely loved how she pulled off a statement necklace on the red carpet, it really added to the look.
I had a very hard time picking my 3 least favorite looks! I love these women, but I think there are better options out there for them. Jennifer Aniston’s dress was ok, but she needs to do her hair!! I’m tired of her hair looking like the just rolled out of bed. Jennifer Lawrence is pretty much my favorite person ever, I just wish she didn’t wear dresses that emphasize the widest part of her. This dress looks like a wedding cake topper. Anne Hathaway’s dress just looked out of date to me. I know it’s important to look timeless for these awards, but this dress already had it’s time.
