Putting on My Game Face

Bad days come, and bad days go. The important thing to remember is to not let a bad day snowball into a bad week.

My stair climber seems to have found it’s own pace because I have been making record time on my steps to stylist. I am still nowhere near the end of my workout, but the intervals have been coming up faster than planned. No, this is not me whining about my success story. I could not be more thankful for how nicely my career is progressing and how much I get to learn every single day. What that does mean is that every day is a whole new interval on the stepping machine and sometimes it seems like more than I can handle. On these days I have to put on my game face while practicing the art of “Fake it ’till you make it!”

What I struggle with the most is not letting the little mistakes I make drown out all of the positive things that happen throughout the day. Like most people, I strive for perfection in my career. Unfortunately  that is not possible, especially when I am still so new to this world of celebrity/red carpet/event styling. Everyday is a new mountain to climb, but the best part about it all is that my endurance is also growing.

If I have learned anything it’s to always communicate how I feel to the people above me. Keeping it in will only leave me in a puddle of tears, venting to my best friend will help the initial stress without actually getting anything done, but explaining how I feel to my boss will only help me improve. Don’t ever feel like expressing concern will make you look weak and incompetent! What it will do is allow you to find new ways to improve and better yourself.

Until next time, don’t be afraid to dream!
