The month of October is one of the most exciting months here in Lexington. Not only is there Halloween (which people do get very excited about around here) but it is also Keeneland month! Keeneland is a horse racecourse and is only officially opened two months a year. Although I am not the biggest horse fan in the world, I am a HUGE fan of getting dressed up to go hang out with friends and family. Last weekend I was able to take my aunt to the first weekend of the races where we bet on horses, drank bourbon (well… I watched everyone else drink bourbon, being the wonderful designated driver that I am!), and did a little bit of souvenir shopping.
For this adventure we seemed to find the perfect combination of warmth, comfort and fanciness (which may or may not be a word). We both ended up in a sweater dress, black tights, black flats and a statement trench coat. Mine being my favorite jacket from eShakti (similar in navy)!
If you are around the Lexington area this month I would definitely recommend checking out Keeneland, even if only for an inexpensive excuse to get dressed up!
