Successful Snow Day

One of my biggest worries about moving to New York over Los Angeles was the winter. I grew up in Florida and didn’t experience real life winter problems until four years ago after moving to Kentucky. What I learned from that is that snow storms are only magical in the movies. Luckily for me, this last snow storm here happened on a day I had off. I am still figuring out how to survive a day of intern styling work in the snow, but I’ve got a snow day at home all figured out!

Here are my steps to a successful snow day-

  1. Stay in your robe and fuzzy slippers a little longer than normal- This has to be one of my favorite things to do. Putting on a cute outfit is great, but when I’m home you will find me in my hot pink robe and Ugg slippers.
  2. Make yourself an extra good cup of coffee- I make myself a cappuccino every morning and drink it as quickly as possible, but on snow days I hug my coffee cup extra tight and take my time enjoying every sip.
  3. If you go outside, do something fun- For most of the day, I like to work from the couch watching the snow, but sometimes it’s fun to get dress and go outside with a friendĀ to do a mini photoshoot!

We may have been totally numb by the time we finished taking these pictures, but these are the things you do for blogs and Instagram pictures. I’d say it was worth it! Couldn’t have done this little adventure without my amazing roommate, Dari.

Until next time, don’t be afraid to dream!
